  8. Click on "My Content" so that you can navigate back to your "My content" page.

How Do You Update Your TomTom GPS

Please visit www.tomtom.com/getstarted for a crucial TomTom update. TomTom recommends this update for all VIA series gps units. This will allow you to update the most current map to your unit. Please follow these instructions by going to: www.tomtom.com/getstarted.

  1. Select the country you are in, then click "Download Now". Follow the on screen instructions to save this program.

  2. Connect your device to the computer using the supplied usb cable.

  3. In the upper right-hand corner of the website, click "Create Account". Then you'll be asked to set up an account using the email you have provided. Please complete the remainder of the data on the form.

  4. Once the form has been filled out, click "Create Account", then "Continue". Plug the unit into the usb until the unit downloads.

  5. The GPS will restart itself then you will have to click on "Get Items" on "My Overview" page. This will open the TomTom update, and the most current map will be available to you.

  6. Simply click "Start Downloading". Allow the unit to download these files (download time will differ depending on your computer).

Once you are finished downloading all the data to your GPS unit, it will have the essential TomTom updates and the most current map available for your region!
